Amy Maclay's Coming Out # 1

Amy and I walked back to her house from the park, Mr. Maclay didn't seem happy to see me.
"Dad, be nice." Amy said as we passed him.
We walked up the stairs to Amy's room, we closed the door to talk about how she is going to come out to Mr. Maclay.
"Do you just wanna come out and say 'Dad, I'm gay.' ?" I asked trying to be as helpful as i could be.
"Maybe not so blunt. How about 'Dad, don't be disappointed in be about this. Sky and I gave been dating, Sky is a good person and she cares about me.' how does that sound?" Amy asked, pacing the room.
"That sounds good, but how about 'Dad, don't be disappointed, but Sky and I have been dating. I care about her and she cares about me.' what about that?" This was the best I could do.
"Yeah, lets use that." Amy smiled. "That's a good one!" Amy looked over her shoulder. "It's getting late, do you wanna do this now?"
I wasn't going to force her to do anything she wasn't ready for, "Only if you're ready."
"Lets go. I want to do this now." Amy grabbed my hand and lead me down stairs, "Dad!" She yelled.
"What?" He yelled back, from the living room.
"We need to talk." Amy said still holding my hand as we interned the living room. We sat down on the couch.

"What do you want to talk about, Amy?" Mr. Maclay asked, he acted as if I wasn't there.
"Dad, I don't want you to be disappointed, but Sky and I are dating. I-"
"What do yo-"
Amy cut him off and said, "Let me finish. I care about her and she cares about me. There is nothing that you can say or do that can change this. There I'm finished." Amy looked ate me for conformation, I nodded my head.
Mr. Maclay sat there silent for a minute or two. "I don't want you to see her anymore." He said, softly.
"Not going to happen." Amy informed him.
"I figured you would say that. I don't want you two kissing or holding hands in front of me. Amy, you're my daughter and I love you, but I do not support this and i do not want her," He said her as if i was the one who made Amy gay. "in my house. You need to call some one to come and get you."
"Dad, if Sky goes so do i!" Amy stud up.
"Fine! Leave!" Mr. Maclay yelled.
Amy and I got up and walked out the door.

"Lets go. I want to do this now." Amy grabbed my hand and lead me down stairs, "Dad!" She yelled.
"What?" He yelled back, from the living room.

"Dad, I don't want you to be disappointed, but Sky and I are dating. She cares for me and I care for her." Amy said what she needed to say.
Mr. Maclay asked softly, "Are you telling me you're a lesbian?"
"Yes, sir." Amy said with pride, "I am saying that."
Mr. Maclay looked upset but he didn't say anything abut it for a good five minutes. When he did talk all he said was, " Amy, I love you."
"I know you do, dad, and I want you to know that you did nothing wrong."
"I don't want to see anything, Sky," This was the first time Mr. Maclay said my name or even acknowledged my existence, "can come over and she can be in your room, but the door will remain open anytime she is in there. Do you understand me?"
"Yes sir, Mr. Kim has the same rules." Amy informed Mr. Maclay.
"Good."
